Drama Curriculum and Program |

The term “drama” is translated from a Greek word “dran” meaning “to act”, and to act in drama has come to mean “to imitate life”. Drama provides students with the opportunity to "live through" experiences of others in imagined situations and in doing so, understand various points of view and motives and empathize with others. Working in role allows students to understand particular situations, texts, ideas, and stories.
Drama instruction is integrated in other subject areas. Focus is placed on communication, role playing, and interpreting characters (i.e., understanding points of view). We also liaise with Young People's Theatre to view selected productions and participate in drama workshops.

- Halloween Haunted House (Grades 7 and 8: 2013-2018) - a popular and much anticipated event created by my past Intermediate students!
- French plays: "Veux-tu danser?" (Grade 7/8: 2013-2014), "Cendrillon" (Grade 8: 2014-2015), and "Quand les contes de fées se rencontrent" (Grade 8: 2015-2016) performed for our school community
- Stations of the Cross tableaux on our Holy Thursday celebrations
- Grade 8 Confederation Debate in historical role
- Anti-bullying PSA Videos (Grade 7/8: 2013-2014)
- Science Instructional Videos on Cells (Grade 8: 2014-2015)
